Using a video of a teacher's lesson and the North Carolina Teacher Evaluation Tool, participants will learn best practices for reflective coaching. Activities will provide opportunities for developing pushing and probing questions that can be used during the coaching process.

Standard IIa: Focus on Learning and Teaching, Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment: The principal/assistant principal leads the discussion about standards for curriculum, instruction, and assessment on research and best practices in order to establish and achieve high expectations for students.

Standard IVc: Teacher and Staff Evaluation: The principal/assistant principal evaluates teachers and other staff in a fair and equitable manner with the focus on improving performance and, thus, student achievement.
